Let's see...it's the vaulted ceiling of something. A wine cellar, maybe?
It so looks like an underground cellar ceiling of some sort! I like the wine cellar guess of Linda's though! I'll go for.... abandoned sewer! LOL! Take care

I agree, something that's been bricked over, maybe a tunnel or passageway (because of the black line in the ceiling)that once went somewhere.
