Yarn Bombing!

Well I think I should call a halt to a cruel and unusual torment.
When I posted this WIIW last light I said it was a toughie!

Jennifer said, “It's a basketball net! LOL!”

OK it is kind of net like, but I have never seen a basketball net with pretty yellow tassels! 40% for playing so energetically!

Marcy said “I was going to say some kind of knitted or crocheted throw thing but Old Kitty may be right”
Knitted or crocheted is right, but it is not a throw. 40%!

Linda G said “I think it is a decorative covering on a camel's hump.”

Well it is a decorative covering! And it is nearly as whacky as a hump cover so 50%!

Carolyn V guessed “The first thing I thought of was a crochet thing for a drum.”

It is knitted or crocheted and it is a “thing” so I guess you too get 40%

Susan said “It definitely looks crocheted to me. Looks too "holey" to be an afghan, so maybe some sort of decorative throw?”

I think that deductive response deserves 50%

Well there is a story to this answer

Recently the bush around here has been splashed with the gold

of flowering wattle.

And in celebration of this annual natural wonder the nearby village of Hurstbridge  has an annual wattle festival. Well some local knit-nuts got in on the act with a colourful act of…
well is it art or vandalism? I will let you decide!
My knit-aholic other half tells me acts like this are known as “Yarn-Bombing” in the knitterly world.

Just to show you how keen they are this piece is across the road just near where I catch my train each morning.

What does a Knit-aholic wear?

Well Deb loves her knitting, so when she saw these clogs she had to have them.

Leather clogs with a knit look print!
She had me photograph them so she could share them with her friends on the knit-web.

And of course the ever devious Al hit on them as WIIW that looked like something they weren’t.

Now as a kiss and make-up for being so cruel, please accept a peace offering.
