Kirsten guessed a Koala, but it isn't a Marsupial of any kind.
John guessed a mop, but it is definitely in the Animal Kingdom.
Laura guessed a dog's fur but this critter is an Oz native just as a koala is (or a kangaroo which it isn't either).

A platypus?
Ya got me. Doesn't look like feathers ... definitely fur or hair of some kind.
Okay, I'll guess again. Emu? The feathers on the front of their necks/chest could look like fur. The "isn't a Marsupial" is throwing me for a loop!
My son just came back over (we were trying to decide together earlier) and he's convinced it some type of rodent.
Kangaroo? Ugh. I have no idea!
Cockatoo?
